Vitamin A

Vitamin A (retinol) belongs to the group of water-soluble vitamins. Known as the vitamin for vision and skin, it is essential for tissue growth and differentiation, reproduction and embryonic development.
It contributes to the metabolism of iron, to the maintenance of the mucous membranes of the skin, to the normal function of the immune system, to the maintenance of normal vision, participates in the process of cell division and is a strong antioxidant agent.
Its lack leads to dry eyes, keratinization of the epithelial tissues and disturbances in the normal development of the fetus. Overdose leads to liver damage.
